ENG – THE PUMP-ACTION LASER PLATFORMS : THE NEW FRONTIER

When we talk about Shotgun platforms, we are essentially talking about 3 types of platforms: Semi-Automatic, Pump Action

(Manual Action) and Tilting Loading.

Obviously, the first two types are those used in the LE, MIL and more generally in defensive tactical dynamics.

In the case of semi-automatic platforms, the training work is based on the management of the tube, on the direct management of the chamber and on the synchronization of the action of the finger on the trigger with that of the shutter, as well as obviously on emergencies and jams.

In the case of Pump Action platforms, the work is always based on the management of the tube, on the direct management of the chamber and on the synchronization between the biomechanics action of the arm/hand on the pump with the action of the finger on the trigger, closing the work as for semi-autos, emergencies and jams.

As always and in everything, the two types of platforms offer pros and cons and there is no absolute better or worse and as always what makes the difference in determining which of the two has more advantages and fewer disadvantages in an application are three parameters:

– Technical skills of the user

– Context

– Needs

However, there is one thing to say, the biomechanics on Pump Action platforms are much more complex and require a decidedly different training structure than the Semi-Automatic one. However, this does not mean that Pump Actions are inferior or less advantageous than Semiautos, on the contrary, if used correctly they offer enormous advantages, especially in certain contexts/applications.

The Shotgun today is one of the most undervalued and least exploited platforms if we compare the most widespread application, especially in the MIL sector, that of “Breaching”, with the potential that this type of firearm would have.

The Shotgun appears as a simple and intuitive platform and in part it is if you use it at a very basic level, but if you use it in a professional way optimizing the technical characteristics as much as possible, then the matter changes completely, but with it the level of performances, leading the shotgun to be by far the most effective platform ever in certain applications/contexts.

In the world, professional trainers who use the Shotgun platform at 360° with truly advanced performances and programs can be counted on the fingers of the hands, this is because the basic ability to create training structures based on specific and dedicated programs is lacking, the study of the technique is lacking and the development of the dynamics of interaction between human capital and the platform is lacking as well .

Until now, to reach an advanced level of manipulation of Shotgun platforms, structured training programs were needed, thousands and thousands of shots and hundreds and hundreds of hours of manipulation, especially with the Pump Action ones, this meant, as always, huge training costs and a huge amount of time.

In this video I am working on the development of Experimental Training Programs for Pump Action platforms using DRY-SIM LASER Technology.

I give you some data and information and leave the conclusions to you.

I carried out 3 hours of intensive training, with over 700 shots, hundreds of actions and biomechanics sequences to be synchronised, decidedly intense muscular work, 360° footwork and movement, 300% more effective than live fire, 300% more difficulty compared to live fire, especially in the dynamics relating to speed and fast shooting.

All this at zero cost and zero risk, this means a reduction in training costs of over 90%, the possibility of training anywhere, without risks of any kind, maximizing the ratio about time/efficiency to 1 to 3 as minimum basic and in certain applications we arrive to have 1 to 10. If we campare these ratio with the time/efficiency ratio we have in live fire which is

1 to 1, we can understand easily that minimum we are going to cut out two thirds of training time achieving 3 times greater effectiveness.

We are working to bring you the future of training !
